JULY 23-30TH, 2011

NEW WILMINGTON MISSION CONFERENCE
The conference is for ages 1-100.  Emphasis is on Junior High – College age youth.  The conference is held on the campus of Westminster College in Western Pennsylvania.  Join us for a week of fun, fellowship and learning about mission in our area and around the world.  For more information, call Jodi Godsell 262-895-7609.  Scholarships are available.

A big "THANK YOU" to all those you contributed in the stophungernow campaign.  Ten teens will be attending the New Wilmington Mission Conference in late July along with four adult chaperones.  We will be assembling meals for hungry people around the world.  Our goal was to collect $200 in quarters so that Forest Park could contribute 800 meals to the hunger effort.  The congregation was so generous and open to the idea that we collected $264.75 which translates to 1,046 meals!!!!    Thank you for supporting the teens and the efforts they will be making to end world hunger in our lifetime.

CHANGE TO CHANGE WORLD HUNGER

Have you been wondering what happened to all of those quarters that we collected in May for the New Wilmington Mission Conference?  They were collected for the mission project for the week at the conference.  An organization called "Stop Hunger Now" was at the conference and organized the project.  350 people volunteered their time during the week to package 28,080 meals. Each bag consisted of soy, a vitamin packet, dried vegetables and rice.  Each meal feeds a family of six.  That means that Forest Park helped fund the feeding of 168,480 people in Kenya.  Thank you to everyone that gave change to help support this worthy cause.  Kenya has been suffering from a drought and the food was badly needed.  If we work together we can change the world.
