Wisconsin's 37 - Captain Paul Gee

Updated: Jul 24, 2020

Erin Miller, while a University of Wisconsin Madison student, began volunteering at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum in 2014 and started conducting interviews with local Vietnam veterans.

While doing further research, she came across 37 servicemen from Wisconsin who are, or were previously, listed as missing in action (MIA) from the Vietnam War. Honoring our veterans and soldiers is something Erin feels very strongly about and she was hoping to be able to do this for the Vietnam War MIAs. She has been working on a book about these servicemen, and putting together short biographies about their lives before and during their service. To do this, she began reaching out to friends, families, and others who served with these men.

Captain Paul Gee served with the Marine Corps in Vietnam, with MAG 11, until January 16, 1968, when his aircraft failed to return from a mission. He was then listed as MIA.

Captain Gee is the son of the late Rev. Garth Gee, the pastor of Forest Park Presbyterian Church from 1953 to 1963. In June of 2016 Erin contacted Forest Park because she had once seen mention of a Paul Gee Fund. Information on this memorial fund was provided to Erin for her book by Forest Park Session members.

The book, Wisconsin's 37, featuring Paul Gee with information about the memorial fund, will be released April 20, 2018. Erin's portion of the profits will be donated to the Wisconsin Veterans Museum and Highground Memorial in Neillsville.

This paperback book is $29.95 and will be available on Amazon. The book may be pre-ordered: https://www.amazon.com/Wisconsins-37-Missing-Action-Vietnam/dp/1476672008
