The mission committee is filling personal hygiene bags for women at the Waukesha Women’s Shelter. We have need of the following: 27 shampoos (regular size-15 oz), 18 conditioners (regular size-15 oz), 20 (4.6 oz) toothpastes, and 30-regular size lotions. It is suggested that the items be purchased at the Dollar Store. If you are able to donate some of these items, please call Karen Zobel at 414-339-0360 to let her know the amount and type of item you will be donating. A box will be placed inside the front doors for drop off of these items when the church is open. Supplies are needed by Mar. 10.
Consider having some fun during this rather cold and unpleasant weather by participating in the Milwaukee Presbytery’s “Restore Challenge.” Members are asked to shop at your local ReStore, a store where your donations & purchases are a significant source of funding for Habitat for Humanity, making it possible for them to build and rehab more homes in our communities. You may purchase any itme that could use a makeover: a lamp, vase, window, chair, etc. Refurbish or restore or transform the item using your creativity and -- by March 6 -- send your before-and-after photos to Kate Hopta (email@example.com). Then, donate the item back to the ReStore, so it can be sold again - a double gain for affordable housing! The Planning Commission will select the best transformation and announce the challenge winner at the March 9 Presbytery Gathering. The winner will be allowed to select a non-profit working on housing or homelessness to receive a $250 donation from the Presbytery. For more information, contact Cindy Stigler.
